Go to your local motorcycle shop

and get some Mothers Chrome polish or Simicrome(sp?) polish. There is also something that comes in a blue metal can that is basically cotton batting with some type of VOC (I think mineral spirits) and a very mild abrasive that works wonders on anything. Just can't remember the name of it right now. I avoid steel wool and scotbright as they tend to leave scratches on the finish that are hard to remove later. If your really want it to be shiny you might get some jewelers rouge and a felt or cotton wheel on a drill or dremel tool. Tons of work but it sure looks pretty when you're done. You might also look into white (not red) rubbing compound from your local auto paint shop.

    Grocery Store

In the grocery store by the cleaning agents, there should be a polishing compound for copper pots and pans. It is the best that I've seen. Don't forget to spray your cleaned pipes with a high temp. lacquer so it stays pretty.
