we have just been asked to figure the heat for a
carpet store that makes & cleans rugs that want a
room to hang and dry carpets they want a room to
be brought up to 110-120f and maintain. the humidity
will be there next question. has anyone done something
like this?. should we look
at comm. fintube and fans or unit heaters and what
type of control (t-stat)?

Did one
years ago in Salt lake. Russ Rose of Watts Radiant had the idea, did a design, and I installed it. Might try Russ or the Watts radiant team. They could put you in touch with the owner.

Radiant
Radiant would probably be your best bet. Baseboard and unit heaters both have one common problem, the thermostats don't reach 110-120 degrees. You could rig something up, but radiant will allow a more consistent temperature. Also, the high humidity would rust your metal baseboard or unit heaters.0 -
Three ways to go...
High mass radiant will bring the mass of the carpets up quick, allowing them to do a better job of expelling moisture, forced convection (fan coils) will insure even air temps around the carpets, and a dehumidifier will quicken the process as a whole.
Sounds like a job for ground source heat pumps to me!!
