    Very nice

I like the use of flanges instead of big unions, a tech school or steamfitters apprentice training program could use your pictures as a lesson plan.

    what size is the header?

    Steve,

Very beautiful pictures, and since I have a burnham IN7 my self, but from the pictures I see your header is so much bigger, and you do the dropdown style, can you tell me the size of header(plus the both side of water feed or return?) and what all benifets that would bring? Newbie here enjoy learning from words & pictures in this group.. Thank you very much!

    Focus

How come digital cameras have trouble focusing in boiler rooms? I see it here frequently and it happens to me. last Saturday I installed a boiler for a sister. At the end of the day I took some pics, and all came blurry.
  • I had that problem

until I realized that the auto focus feature takes a second or two to kick in. Not sure what kind of camera you are using, but my Sony requires you to hold the button part way down to focus first. Works great now!

  • Nice work Steve!

A job to be absolutely proud of and one that will work well to boot! Lots of room for the steam to do it's thing. Thanks for sharing it with us. By the way...any jobs that you are exceptionally proud of, we ask that you submit them for consideration for the next calander. We highlight jobs like this one each month both on our calander and web site. Just ask Mad Dog.....he's Mr. January for 2004! Thanks.

    header size

is 4" the larger the header size the drier the steam.
  • Outstanding work Steve

That is one of the best piped steamers I have seen . The 4 inch headder is great insurance to guarantee no wet steam gets out of the boiler . Was it your first Burnham steamer or first steamer ? It cannot be the latter . I love the huge bushing on the side to add chemicals real easy .

If you don't mind me asking , how long did it take to get to this point on the install ?

This one is a beauty Steve .

this was my first Burnham install

Installed Peerless and Dunkirks before. This supplier I like sold Burnhams so I thought I"d give them a try. For the most part I was pretty happy with them a few snags ,but I worked them out. I have just about 50 hours into the job so far and maybe another full 8 hour day with balancing the system and skimming.

    digital camera's

I have learned need lots of light. the best pictures I took on this job were helped by positioning drop lights right behind the camera. Unfortunally I didn't do it for all of them.
