Today I did a heating realestate inspection and you won't beleive this. This condo was built in 1986.The 50,000 btu upflow Bryant furnace was on the 1st floor, a 4 inch b-vent went through chase in wall on the second floor then went into attic. there was a 5 inch b-vent through the roof but the 2 were never connected. there is about 6 foot- 8 foot of missing b-vent. there is a 2x4 chard up.
SCARY

    We have a saying

At work we say "the good stuff you can't make up" yes it is amazing what we find, we have found several water heaters nicely connected to chimneys that we capped solid at the top and spilled for years. What did the bottom of the roof deck look like? I saw a MISSING access door in a condo closet ceiling were the attics were common and the entire underdeck was black with mold from several years of warm moist air. Assume nothing when inspecting, I was running gas pipe in a normal crummy crawl space when someone washed their hands and I heard water, thinking a broken pipe I saw that the lav drain was never connected, just dumped on the crawl space dirt.
