There is no more elegant way to heat a house than with old beautiful cast iron radiators.always pipe them one top tap,one bottom tap, big jobs use the first to feed last to return method, monoflow loops work great too. throw out the mechanical heater and find yourself a couple old pieces of art.0 -
Kitchen heat
It depends on the look you're going for. I like the old radiators, but if you want something more modern try Vasco. They have a real cool looking stainless, tubular radiator which is also a pegboard to hang utensils. I want one!0 -
Kitchen heat
I installed one of these in a kitchen one time. Looked very good painted in a nice choclate brown and the homeowner loves it!

Another option to consider
You might consider installing an underfloor circuit under the joists if there is room.
Also if you are looking for options check out
www.myson.com they offer some contemporary designs when it comes to panel radiators.
Good Luck,

Radiators
Try looking at the Burnham Website and review the Classic Radiator. They are very pretty for an older look.0
