I've seen some nice US Kero heaters

from HTP here in the states. Strange why products like these are not marketed more in the US as a high efficency alternative to the 90%+ gas condensing boilers out there.
I know here on Long Island, while a big market for #2 home heating oil. I don't think I've ever seen a Kerosene delivery truck. Prices for K-1 at filling stations seem to be around the same as #2. Does K-1 have lower or higher heat ouput per gal then #2? Are there any more specs on these units?

k1 has lower btu,s per gal tnan #2

They look like nice small units. They also look almost the same as the Vitodens/Veissmann boilers (gas). Are they about the same as the Monitors oil boilers?

    UK Oil boilers

Thanks to all who had a look at my post & the boilers.
These boilers, like most UK domestic boilers use Kero and are very clean burning.
We install lots of the wall mounted type - they lift the Kero up to about 8ft, so the plastic oil tanks sit on a base in the garden.

We use indirect hot water heaters, steel panel radiators or radiant under floor heating.

Thanks again & a Merry Christmas to you all.

Here on Long Island, kero is used a lot in mobile homes in these tiny oil-fired scorched air units (Miller is a popular one). I was told it is because of the very small nozzle sizes ( around 0.50 gph) and the fact that the storage tanks are always outside. Being outside #2 oil would get so thick in winter that @ 0.50 gph there'd be too many no-heat calls. Kero is supposed to flow much better.

There's an oil company (Manna?) in Amityville that delivered K1 to the mobile home parks there in a stubby oil truck (small tight access roads in the parks).
