John Hall's book

It's a love story, and a ghost story. It's also a novel, which means that John made it all up. But the thing is, it's all about the Hall family. John imagines what life would be like if his wife, Janet, died suddenly and he was left to go on, and to raise his young daughter and son on his own.

I have to admit that the concept of this gave me the willies when John first told me about it. Losing your wife is a possibility that most of us consider from time to time, but only in the quiet of our hearts.

What would I do if . . .

The thought is so horrible that we put it out of our minds and just get on with the day-to-day business. That will never happen to me. But what if . . .

What John has done with his first novel is to pay tribute to Janet while she's still very much alive. There's a magnificant beauty to that, which I appreciated more and more as I read through the story. It's a love story, and it's a really good one.

And, like I said, it's also a spooky ghost story. It will hold your interest from the first page to the last. And the ending is worthy of O. Henry - a terrific surprise, and one that will warm your heart.

"Angels Working Overtime" is a book that every man should read. It will make you stop and think about what matters in life, and it will make you appreciate your wife even more. This book has the power to change people for the better.

What would I do if . . .

Buy a copy from John. You'll be richer for it. I promise you that.

    Good.

I know what's involved in writing a book. It takes months of concentration and hard work. I keep thinking about the hours John spent in his home, writing this novel, imagining what life would be like without his wife. And as he wrote, she was there in the other room. The process of doing this is fascinating to me.

What a joyus way to love a woman.

Everyone, please read this novel. Thanks.

    Thanks Dan

Your kind words mean a lot to me. Everyone should know that Janet watched the progress of the book every step of the way and she really loves the story. Whenever she has the slightest doubt about how important she is to me, all she has to do is open up almost any chapter -- and be reassured.

Still time for a holiday gift with a personalization. If you don't feel comfortable using a credit card via PayPal, e-mail me and I'll send you my mailing address.

    Thanks again!

    Today I conversed...

...with another Wallie who wanted to put a voice behind the author's name. I appreciated that. He said he trusts the good word of Dan Holohan and his recommendation. I appreciate that, too.

One last suggestion: If you order by this Saturday, I'll get the book in the mail for delivery by Christmas. If you are late and need it in a hurry, it will cost you a "litle" more.

    Happy holidays!

    Many thanks

To all of the Wallies who have purchased the book -- thanks. Although I can't guarantee shipment by Christmas now, it is still a good read any time of the year. Read "Angels" -- and hug your family.
