Tekmar controls

Does anyone know why they require a 120v feed ?, when the relays they contain are dry, and the system pump for instance has to have it's own feed. I would have thought the electronics they contain would only need a low voltage supply. What am I missing?

Convenience
The older Tkemar controls ran off low voltage. The new ones now run off line voltage. I belive it is simple more convenient to wire, I certainly find it so.

I bet they have not had as many fried controls sent back to the factory, since they changed it.

It took years
to get them to build 120 Volt controls! Much more versatile for installers. No more seperate transformers.
I think the UL gets more involved when a control contains 120 volt components, hense the delay in getting them to market.
