Hartford loop ?

I found another lo bidder steam job! The hartford loop is 4" higher then the water line,the risers reduced to 1 1/2" from 2" to a 2" main NO HEADER!!!Beside finding a cracked boiler in a year or two what other problems may I come across.Will bid on repiping job!But they have alot of excuses not to spend since it is working.They didn't tell of any probliems but!!we know how that goes now I worked on it!!! ;)Boiler ic 7 Y/O...THANKS Richard

if i was you ...
i would write up a service ticket next time you are there and state that the piping on the boiler is piped in against the mfg. instruction and that it sould be repiped, this way the choice is theres not to repair it, make sure they sign it. all my service tickets have sugested work for things that are not to code , or done wrong and will pose a problem down the road. and a picture is worth a thousand word or dollars... hope this helps David0 -
