Finished Steamer - DF

I posted some job-in-progress photos of this project a couple of weeks ago. Here is the finished product. It is a Burnham V-94 steamer with a Beckett oil gun feeding a one pipe system. The tankless coil supplies DHW stored in a 100 gal. storage tank. So far, everything is working fine. -DF

Now that is the way
steam should be done . Great looking header . What was in there before ?
We recently installed a V 905 with a Carlin , and couldn't get it to burn clean , always a trace of smoke . How did the Beckett perform ?0 -
Becketts
I've always preferred beckett over carlin. Can't put my finger on it, but they're better.0 -
Before
This is what was here before. They were burning over 4,000 gallons of oil per season with this boiler. I'll be curious to see what they use with the new boiler.
I'm not much of an oil guy. I set the burner precisely to the specs in the installation manual but I could not get it to burn cleanly. Steve came out and adjusted the "Z" dimension almost 3/4" from where the specs said to set it and got it to light off smoothly and burn cleanly. He set it up using a Testo meter. -DF
