I wouldn't take any chances by going straight to copper from the boiler -- use black pipe until you can transition to copper with a brass fitting or dielectric. Their smaller residential boilers (G115/21 and /28) actually come with a brass bushing that has a diffuser plate to aid in distribution of return water at the boiler.
Haven't seen the combo flange/valve, but I do have a cut on the B&G version, and there's no mention of port size other than it being a full-port valve. Even if it is slightly smaller on the Taco, I would doubt that it could have a significant pressure drop.

pump flange
I have 1 inch taco pump flanges with ball valves.I was looking at them and the id is smaller than a normal valve.Should i be concerned about this? Also do i need to be concerned with electrolisis at the point of conection between the boiler and copper piping. I have a buderus boiler. Thanks

In a closed loop system
copper directly to the boiler should not be a problem. In order for electrolsis, or any corossion to occur, you need O2. Properly sealed and purged hydronic systems are not a problem.
Same with fire protection system. The CDA approves copper to iron and steel transitions without dielectric unions, or fittings.
Dielectric unions seem to "cook" the insulator rings hard and brittle when used at the boiler, I've found.
A brass nipple could also be used for additional piece of mind at the boiler, copper to iron, connection.
