honeywell thermostatic radiator valves

installed a honeywell thermostatic valve with a remote head it works well full open but if set part way closed it rattles im thinking i need a bypass between the supply and return any other ideas ?

thermostatic rad valves
will chatter just when they become satisified if the differential pressure in the hot water system gets up to the 10 psi range. they will also chatter if installed backwards. this holds tru for all makes of scv's. so check the installation first then , if you can check the pressure difference between the supply side and return side of the valve (system). and yes a bypass may do the trick, but you can also purchase a pressure differential valve that will keep the pressure constant on the return side (works like the bypass but balances with a internal spring). this pressure differential valve goes between the supply and return on the system. suggest you keep the pressure differential less than 3 psi. tp tunstall0
