Wirsbo

I have a customer that has a WIRSBO system that was installed about 6 years ago by the company I used to work for.
He is having problems with the valve seals on the manifolds leaking ( under the Telestats )He is on well water. Two years ago per Wirsbo I replaced all the valve seals and put algecide into the system because Wirsbo said it was alge eating at the seals.
Today I go out to do preventative maintainence and find more seals leaking and two bad telestats due to the water leak.
Has anyone else been having this problem.
The seals seem DRY and squeek when pushed in and out.
Would putting a lubricant into the system help?

    Test the water

it could be related. I'd flush and use a good hydronic cleaner, then a hydronic conditioner. Of course make sure it is not taking on additional water from a small leak somewhere.

Algecide, alone, may not have the ph buffers, o2 inhibitors and other ingrediants to protect the components, and may in fact be worsening the problem.

You really need to take a sample to a tedting lab to see EXACTLY what you have going on. Otherwise you are guessing at treatment and causes. An expensive hobby!

    We would be happy

to test your water for you. Just send a water botttle and a fax number so we can reply. Also a note about your problem. We do this as a service to our clients both new or existing.

Also we have exactly the two products that Hotrod is suggesting. Go to our web address and look under hydronic
on the left side of the front page. There you will read about our Hydro-Solv 9100, our cleaner and Rhomar 922, our treatment product. These two products used in tandem are
the cat's pajammas as far how they work. They do the job as advertised.
  • I,ve got a leaker I've got to fix as well:-(

Same problem. I just replaced all of her heat type telestat operators with the new moterized style ones and one manifold ballancing stem has started weeping again. I thought it had stopped. Soon as I leave it started leaking.

Can I get my water tested too? Not sure yet if they're on well water?

Anyone have a wirsbo repair kit # for my salesman?

    Just send a sample

and a fax number or e-mail so we can report the results. We would like a clue as to what you are after, hardness or pH for example. Just a little note with a bottle water size sample. Look forward to helping you.
