    In Lancaster

Ma. Dan. He was in the basement with another fireman when the fire took off and he was separated. He was a call firefighter, which most towns in Ma have, who wanted to eventually be full time somewhere.

He must come from a very strong family as his Dad was quoted saying that "at least he died doing what he loved".

    Sad day in Massachusetts.

    One of my friends

One of my friends that I am on a small department with used to be on that department. It is about 20 minutes away from me. We are coming up on the anniversary of the death of the 6 Worcester Firefighters. Tragedy always seems to strike this time of year.

It's too bad people don't apprecitate..

What other folks do for them sometimes. Many a life has been saved by a firefighter risking theirs. My condolences to the family and friends of the fallen hero. May he rest in peace!

    Irony

It is ironic that in a post above, we are complaining about homeowners that get in over their heads and how we have to bail them out. (notice that I said WE).
Now consider the fire fighters who have to literally risk their lives to bail out people from situations that they had created. I know that accidents happen, but I am sure thatthere are a good percentage that could have been avioded.
At least we have the option to pick up our tools and drive home to our families.

Something very special in these types of human beings. They have a passion to save lives and homes. So tragic the price many have to pay.
