Fuel Oil Driven Heat Pump

Is there such a thing?
A diesel engine driven heat pump (air or ground source) that would run of #2. Maybe using the cooling fluid for additional heat.
Small enough for efficient residential heat and A/C. Possibly using a boiler for peaks.

Fuel Oil Driven Heat Pump
I would think a 6 kW or 8 hp diesel engine would be enough.

i dont know if it exists, but i have worked on large refrigeration compressors that were run off diesel. these were six cylinder caterpiller engine driving a 200 horse recip compressor for an ice rink. they worked okay, but the biggest problem was getting rid of all that heat. finally it was removed and replaced with an electric motor. the heat caused more damage than it was worth.0
