GEOTHERMAL

I'm an HVAC contractor in Massachusetts and we are thinking of adding geothermal systems(ClimateMaster) to our line up.

What are the pros and cons of using geothermal in New England. Is it reliable? Do you always need back-up(electric etc.) and can you add radiant loops to it?

I am located in Michigan so I can't say much about your area. I have been usind ECR goe systems. You can heat air or water or air and water so you can do radiant and domestic hot water. Check out their site at www.ecrtech.com
Great guys to work with and great product. I am going to do radiant floor with a unico ac in the new house I am building for myself.

    Geo

You need to watch your design water temps when using Geo as a heat sourse for radiant.

    Mass

We are in Mass and have used the Climate master. Very nice quality unit. However with our high electric rates it simply doesn't pay. Nothing beats a High eff oil boiler on radiant here unless you've got your own backyard electric plant like a little hydroelectric generator or windmill or something.
