    What do you need, Kal?

I don't have any interaction with our website, however. But maybe there is something I could do to help.
  • Kal what do you need?

Maybe I can help you I have a lot of UT information.

Kal, evidentally you already contacted us...

about this. Are you looking for something on the U.T. model 1003-621A Intermittent Pilot Ignition Control? I have an Engineering Specification for the 1003-600A series of controls. I will give it to Noel in Tech Service to fax to you if it is.

i have to to back to the site

to get the exact model off the control - i just dont like leaving a job without all the docs in place and a copy in my records - in fact with pdf's and pacticaly everyone with a computer, i can leave a cd-rom on site of all the docs - so thanks Jim and Tim, i will get you the exact model number of the control soon.

    went back

and it is a 1003-621A, attached is a pic,
the part number is on a faded sticker, and it looks like my customer is an unwitting beta tester, ie: note on the lable says "cont.ing trial", (unless that means - "continuing flame sense") - nevertheless, i like the control, after a 5 sec purge, the the spark, pilot, sense, main valve sequence goes real fast - like 1 sec - and the 5 sec pre-purge - gives my auxilary vent fan (driven by a relay, off the control's 24v supply, a chance to come up to speed, before ignition, it's a tkemar relay 2.1va 88milliamp coil - acctually it's an omron realy that tekmar resels at twice the price of grainger.com

anyway my fax number is 718 260 4375 if anyone can send me docs on it

    Kal, that U.T. control...

model 1003-621A is an approved alternate component for the Honeywell S8600 that is shown on your Parts List.

The term "continous ignition trial" refers to the action to continously try for ignition of the burners after the pilot is proven.

Did you receive the specifications via Noel's fax?

It seems that you are not having a problem with the operation, although your sequence timings seem a bit quick - Let us know if you need anything further on this.

    thanks or the prompt fax

is there a pdf of this somewhere, if not, i can make one for you by scanning in an original copy, and printing it to pdf - then you can post it - as long as it's ok with UT

    Why don't we...

leave this be as it is. These were probably just meant for Slant/Fin Engineering - you can be our honorary Engineer for today, though ;^)

    thanks

    just for future service info
being that local supply houses dont carry these UT units yet, can i assume that the honeywell 8610 universal replacement would work?, since it does replace the 8600f you origonaly used - and the one wire spark/sens option is included in the 8610
  • Yes

You would change the 24 vac input wires to terminals 5&7, polarity not relevant.

Leave the vent damper plug in; where it is. Slant/Fin wires the vent damper from the aquastat relay. Pulling the plug will blow the fuse in the S8610U control, and it won't work.

do you get guys falling all over each other to help you?

slant-finn has always been one of my favorites

they provide "most bang for the buck" - i cant wait for your own fully condensing competition killer - SlantFin should be able to sell fully condensing ones at a fraction of the competition since you have the advantage of having let others pioneer, eg weil-mclain ran the ultra's aluminum heat exchanger for 15 years to prove it out, and now that it's proven, slant can just produce it and point at WM's record - saves a bundle in r/d costs right there
