contrast color
At least it's a contrasting color. Usually they bury our art work in the floors and walls. Keith0 -

It's to your advantage John...
I have a copper plate radiant ceiling heater in my office. I thought it was a thing of beauty. THe wife disagreed. I decided to tone it down by painting it a flat white color to blend into the ceiling. Just for grins, I decided to watch the delta T before and after painting. The delta T doubled after I painted it.
Although pretty to us, shiny copper actually emits less heat than painted, dulled copper.
Don't worry, be happy. You have pictures of your art...

Love the Subject line, John.
You gotta get your fingers under your chin for that one. LOL!Retired and loving it.0 -
I guess
you can put the copper polish away!!Gary from Granville0 -
\"They\" also made a major mistake!
The white will emit far less heat than black paint would.
If they are cold at design temp - wag your head and go, "Tsk, tsk, tsk."
Told you so...... (:-o)

Geez, and I thought it would take them ten years to paint the job. Figured the owner would tire of dulled copper.
I got a question. If the metal emits more heat when painted, should aluminum floor plates for radiant heat be painted?0 -
painting radiant aluminum
I know that warmboard comes with a nice green paint on it. I'd bet it has better emmisivity than aluminum oxide.

floor plates
mostly function by conduction to the floor not radiation I'd guess, but a dull or unpolished finish should have as good an emissivity as painted I would think. Polished finishes are to be avoided however.0 -
pipe rad
I'm running 300 feet of copper at 170. The total output is about 12,000 btuh. Give or take about 5%.
