I recently encountered a job where I couldnt get the air out of an indirect h.w.h.The heating system is a gas fired boiler , two pipe forced hot water ,feeding cast iron radiators The system has a compression type tank for expanssion of the back of the flow vale. The indirect was piped off the top of the boiler an the return out of the boiler drain. Tryed purging h.w.h. continously eventualy got fed up an cut in a tee and put an automatic vent on the top of boiler where the supply comes out. For now h.w.h. working o.k. butis this o.k. to intoduce an autmatic vent with a compression tank will this water log it?or any other problem?Any input would be greatly appretiated.

Vent
A auto vent leaves a escape route for the air charge on the old ceiling tank. On a diaphragm type tank not a problem....0
