We wrapped this one up this afternoon. This is the old US Park Service Headquarters building built in 1904. It is on the Potomac River at Hains Point. It was extensively damaged when this area flooded during hurricane Isabel last September. They are renovating the entire building and decided to add radiant floor heat.
We tapped off the existing Burnham oil boiler and used a Danfoss panel with a 4-way motorized valve controlled by a Danfoss reset control. The new tenants will have tosty warm feet. Off to Vegas! -DF

Steamhead, Rose said you stopped by. Sorry I missed you. What are you doing down here? Did you get that vapor re-pipe in Old Town? Next time you are down this way, look me up and we will meet for lunch or a cold one after work.
Kevin, as this area is prone to flooding, they raised the entire first floor over a foot. The GC added about 8" of crushed stone, 2" of rigid poly insulation and capped it with a topping slab that varied from 3-5" to level things up.
Jeff, thanks for the comments. Sorry you can't make it to Vegas with us. Next time! -DF

That was it, Dan
unscrambling an old Hutchison. We now have a small, good, late-model, used Hoffman condensate pump for sale or trade, complete with check valve and a layer of sludge on the bottom ;-) . It was superseded by a Vaporstat. I hope to have a bit more advance notice next time we come down, and I'll be sure to let you know!
