The owners didn't want the radiators sticking out past the sheetock because they wanted to push the legs of the work desks all the way up to the wall.
The contractor framed in these recesses; we had to tell him we needed 3-4" above and below the radiators for good air flow otherwise the radiators will not covect properly.

Nice Alan!!
Good to see you're busy.0 -
All heated
by a Rinnai water heater; the owners were driven to find an inexpensive heat source and the Rinnai fit the bill. I had to explain to them that operating costs would be more expensive than with a condensing boiler. Also, the high head pump would be expensive to run.
hydronicsmike: Nice to hear from you. Unfortunately, there's no tekmar on this job; not even one of your wonderful 511 thermostats although we are using them more and more on our other jobs. Keep well.

Really nice
Alan very nicely laid out. How are the Runtals connected ?
That looks like some nice rough work to have them come out so neat. I really like the recessed panels.
A Vitodens would have been sweet.

Ballofix
makes a nice connector w/ isolation valves; available in angle or straight pattern, ½" or ¾". Piping is ½" PEX, 2-pipe direct return.
Thanks for the nice words, Scott. I saw the pictures you posted on your Runtal job; they looked excellent. How do you connect yours?

Before sheetrock
Rehau makes an Everlok x FIP adaptor that's ideal for radiator piping. You just have to make sure you set the depth of the adaptor correctly so that you can use a standard, store bought nipple; you don't want to end up between sizes.

oventrop
makes a nice shutoff/union ell, but the finish is not as nice a chrome as yours. We directly connected ours with copper, seems to me a union would be a better applicaton.
Alan who does the finish plastering around the valve ?
By the way we have Runtal trim panels for the ones we installed, we just had'nt put them on yet.
