the first thing i put in on every job is one of those "combustible gas + co detector..." ac powered with battery backup,
well it saved my neck the other day, when for some reason, the hose going into my acetylene torch handle got lose and was leaking, I did not hear it, and its a turbo torch, with the plastic sleeve over the connection, so the gas is directed away from the handle, but the gas part, of the already installed combo detector started screaching, so I went looking and then I heard a very faint sound by the handle could-a-blowed-me-up whew!!!
