I,m installing radiant floor heat for the inlaws log home cottage and they insist on using a electric boiler.Heat loss for the place is 43,000 btu.Is ther any thing stopping me from setting boiler temp at 100-110 and running the pumps of t-stat's(2 manifolds with glycol)

    Electric boilers

When I do an electric boiler I throw a Tekmar 260 on it for outdoor reset. Works great.

try thermolec (i believe their web is www.thermolec.com). they manufacture a modulating electric boiler, with outdoor reset built in. i will be installing one of these in the next little while. i parlayed with one of their guys, because we were going to be running an indirect off of this boiler, but it just got nixed. anyway, through our discussions, they have come up with a control system, that will boost the boiler temp automatically when the indirect calls for heating. kinda like the vision one for the munchie. should be standard stuff on the next run of boilers, he figured in about two months.

    Electric Boiler Indirect DHW?

I'm curious... Why not just get a well insulated electric water heater like a marathon? Energy price is the same, no piping, pumping etc.

for the faster recovery. the house which we are installing the thermolec is a small one with a couple only, so we are going to use a 65 gal electric. but i have put electric boilers in bigger family homes. in one of these homes, the plumber had to go back and install a second electric tank.
