Has any one had problems with the 356 control,We are not able to get enough voltage out of the variable speed to
operate a wet rotor pump, 007 or 15-42 The controler is showing 100% out put. any ideas

Thanks

    mixing injection controllers

I have experienced this situation twice; once with a 370 and once with a 356. In each case an internal fuse was blown and had to be replaced. I wasn't there when it happened, but evidently power was applied incorrectly and popped the fuse. tekmar doesn't really tell you about this internal fuse because they would like to completely check out the control for other damage. I was able to obtain correct fuses and put the controls back into operation. Didn't have much choice.

Ken thanks for your input,I have tryed 5 diffrent 356 controlers and all of them are doing the same thing.

    That is unusual

That is unusual. I will be watching to see what you discover. You say you are not getting voltage out, but the indicator says otherwise. What voltage are you registering at "full" output? If you were getting 120 volts out at 100% as indicated, than you would have to check the mehcanics of the injection system; i.e. pump turning?, valves open?, air lock?, piping? etc. One other thing I have encountered are the injection contacts wired to other pumps in the system, such as the mixed system or boiler loop. Otherwise, of the scores of tekmar injection controls I have sold/applied, I have had only the two failures through no fault of the control.

Ken,the out put voltage to the injection pump at 100% is 83v, voltage going to it is 120v,do you know if these controlers change the voltage to change the pump speed. Thanks

    Variable output

Yes, the controller will increase or decrease the power output to the injection pump when there is a mixing demand, based upon what the control is trying to maintain at the mixed supply sensor. A multi-meter is more accurate than the indicating bars which show through 90% at 20% intervals. We will have to wait until we hear what tekmar says about 83v output when showing 90%+, but with 83v to the injection pump, you should be transferring some Btu's. What are you exactly experiencing with the system? No heat, not enough heat, marginal heat? What does the view menu show for target temperature versus mixed temperature?

    circ

had one on a snow melt sys. in Dec.Strange voltage readings when the circ was conected.
    Replaced the 007 ran fine.

Run the control through its test option. Sometimes dirty line power or brown outs will cause some internal problems. During the test the control will correct any of these unless there has been damage.
