LWCO placement in a tight spot

I usually put the probe in like shown - in a 3/4 black tee . Would it be a better idea to increase the tee size to 1 inch , like a 1 by 3/4 by 3/4 tee , for more clearance ? Or does the 3/4 tee have enough room around the probe ? Thanks in advance .

    Wow Ron

You got her cramed in there do'nt yea. Nice job. I always use the RB-24 guard dog by M/M and I place it above the boiler in the piping with a 3/4 female adaptor then a ball valve so that I can service the probe.

    Question for you Ron

Why is the unit elevated? What is placed below it? How do the guys clean these since they clean from the top?

    Thanks,
    Leo

    elevate me leo :)

Whats up brother Leo?How's married life? The thought of brushing that HX is freaking you out eh.I see a mirror on the ceiling(kinky eh?) the door swung open and a halogen shinen' bright through the chamber.A nice bend in the brush too. Those Levittown homes are notorious for no space.I too have wondered why Ron uses that shelf for the boiler...........perhaps cuz its there:)

    cheese

PS Hey Ron:whats the Tiger Loop Hung on?BTW.........Nice job.
  • This is why we hang em up

These homes came with a washing machine underneath the boiler . The flue connects into a chimney that also has a fireplace in it for the living room and kitchen . Pretty good selling point for the GIs after WW2 .

Cleaning is alot easier that the old hanger . You pop off the top and can get a vacuum hose all the way in to the chimney . Cleaning the chamber would take some time - I guess the door can be lifted off with the burner if needs be .

Hey Cheese - We got the oil line holding the Tigerloop in place - and the line going from th filter to the loop touches the plate .

Check out the celing - years and years of accumulation .

    Thanks Leo and Cheese .
  • Any problem

We always put our lwcos in 1.25 and larger tees. We have had problems over the years with shorting to ground on smaller tees. We also use hydro level controls as we have found these to be the most reliable.
