furnace fires up flame stays on approx. 45seconds then burner shuts down the furnace stays running in post purge mode then the blower and inducer fans shut down for approx. 2 seconds then hot surface igniter glows burners fire runs for a short period of time then post purge again
any suggestions greatly appreciated

Like more detail as for manufactor/model/condensing/non condensing. Direct vent/indirect? Did you clean the flame sensor/Mag the inducer draft fan/Leaves or trash in the intake air/Clean the trap/I understand will not fire just continues to cycle? Details please.

If your have a 90% condensing furnace you have a water problem(not draining. If you have an 80%, could be a bad inducer motor, wheel or partially plugged chimney.
