Dear Guys and Gals,

Greetings all. Hope everything is well with you and yours.

Recently, I had posted on “The Wall” making inquiries on a situation with deteriorating asbestos insulation on my main steam line near the boiler. So many of you responded with your concern and advice, of which I am greatly appreciative.

I am posting this information in hopes that I may be helpful in return. I called New York City’s 311-phone line making an inquiry to address the asbestos situation in my home. They referred me to the following website: http://www.nyc.gov/dep, which is The City of New York Department of Environmental Protection’s home page. If you click on “About DEP’ and then click on “Air, noise & HAZMAT,” you will find information on asbestos.
