Sorry if it's not really hydronic-related though.
If you ever use contact-type cement remember--DAP GEL FORMULA!!!
Was working in mechanical closet in bath and knocked the crap out of my head--was a bit dazed. Went down to brush on some contact cement and knocked over ½-filled gallon onto quarter-sawn oak floor!
Bought another gallon--just grabbed by colors on the can. Went to use--shook--heard nothing. Opened--it was solid-like--I don't keep the house that cold! Then saw "Gel Formula" on can.
Won't spill (easily at least). VERY easy to control how much you apply and MUCH easier to put a heavier coat on porous surface to avoid multi-coating. Seems to dry a bit faster. Less odor. Grabs VERY well--better than old formula. Was never too pleased with previous DAP contact adhesive as it was too thin and almost always took multiple coats. "Real" stores were closed though and had to go to a "big box" that only carries DAP brand.
Should be truly exceptional for adhering bubble wrap to the outside of ductwork. Guess I'm a masochist for doing that but don't care for interior insulation of ducts and have found that well-fitted bubble wrap and aluminum tape at corners insulates ductwork EXTREMELY well!
