Thats great news. Did he set it up to update the virus software autmaticly? Did you have him put in a CD backup? If not make sure you get that done. You dont want to have to depend on a $80 hard drive.

    memory. Virus software is a memory and cpu hog.

    I don't actively run my virus software but I do run scans regularly. I do not open any strange e-mail and have my mail filtered before it even gets to the inbox. Knock on wood.

    My wife is very good at not opening strange e-mail; when in doubt delete it out. If it was important chances are they will call (on the phone) and then resend it.

    Mad Dog if you actively run virus software you might notice your computer runs slower. It is a tradeoff. If you don’t actively run it you need to be extra careful and scan regularly.

    Joe,
    One thing you can do that might help speed it up is to just run it to scan incoming email msg's. That is where your biggest chance of getting a virus comes from
