Taco RMB Adequately Control Return Temp On Condensing Boiler???

My contractor is getting ready to install a Taco RMB with appropriate piping to control temps for both return and in-slab radiant temps. Many have questioned the set-up in another post and called for additional boiler control. The questions are:

1. Will the Taco RMB work and provide the non-condensing Dunkirk boiler with adequate return temp efficiently to prevent long term damage?

2. If more is needed for boiler control what would be the suggestions for maximum fuel economy

Thanks.

    RMB

If you have a non-condensing boiler, the RMB will work nicely with it, and will protect the boiler. It comes with a boiler return sensor and the installer can program in a minimum boiler return temperature. As the return temperature starts to approach that minimum, the RMB will slow down the injection circulator, allowing more hot boiler water back to the boiler.

The RMB will only reset the mixed water temperature, but it has an optional function that can manage the boiler's firing cycle without shortcycling. It's not boiler reset, but it does help make the system even more efficient.

    You're right, JB.....

..... and I should have elaborated more in the other thread. The RMB does do what you say and I was talking about boiler, full or partial, reset, which is true control. My bad.
