New Concept ???

Was on a job this week at a very high end home where the owners brother (a scorched air contractor) was installing Myson baseboard in a rec room. He was using black rubber hose similar to dishwasher hose and stainless clamps for the supply and return.
Can this truly be kosher or is he giving his sister the ultimate hose job?
Can't believe this meets code but maybe I fell into a time warp and missed something.
Has anyone else ran into similar systems??
Thanks MP 1969

There is a contractor in my area that uses "Speed-Air" hose for all of their radiant jobs. Compressor hose.
They claim that it is the same as WattsRadiant Onix.
It isn't.

Make sure
the pipe has an oxygen barrier and can be used in a closed loop hydronic system.

Maybe ?
Maybe it was Heatway Onyx?? I have used it for kick space heaters when soldering would be dangerous or not accessible.0 -

I don't get it. If Heatway is available to this contractor why not use it if thats what he wants. I never could understand that mentality of using a cheaper product to lower your cost.
It burns me when we go on to a job and find that the installer "saved" money by not instaling ball valves on the supplys. NO way to isolate a zone. Only one valve on the return for purging. What did they save 60 bucks ?
If you can't do a job correctly DONT DO IT.
Try running your business on the best quality not the lowest cost. You might be supprised.

You are right
I got a call from a person that just built a new car wash. He had "radiant" heat put in at the entrance and exit for ice melting.
The "plumber" ran black well hose in the slab. One circuit.
It doesn't work and the "plumber" will not return his calls.
Wonder why?
