    Modular Steam heating

Can you use modular steam boilers if you are unable to get a larger boiler into the jobsite. is ther an advantage of doing this

    Modular?

Sure you can do that, but make sure you get someone who knows steam to do it. Remember, each boiler must be piped and set up like it was the only one. That means double everything! Since the total capacity must be matched to the connected load, there is no real advantage to staging them, like you can with hot water systems.

    I disagree

If you have a zoned system or trv's, that connected load is constantly changing, just like a hot water systems, so step fired modulars make a huge amount of sense. In addition, once the system is up to temp, the pick up load drops out so you can fire less btu's. Take a look at Slant Fin, they appear to have steam modulars really well figured out and you do not have to pipe each boiler separately in thier layouts.
