1 bad radiator

I have an old house with steam heat. 1 radiator on 2nd floor does not heat-up. I tried a new vent and it heated up a little bit once and not again. There is only the one vent on top. I tried opening and closing the valve, to no avail. Should I disconnect the radiator and try and clean it out with a snake, or maybe even the pipe leading to the radiator as well??
Thanks...

new vent
alex,
do you have 1 pipe or 2 pipe steam?
you have a 2 pipe system if you have pipes on both sides of your radiator) otherwise, it's a one pipe system.
if it is a one pipe system, and the radiators' valve is completely open, try swapping the vent (just unscrew it) with the vent from another radiator. if it heats up ok once swapped, the vent is bad, spend $16 for a new one.0
