thermocouple cutoff

I have a litle cozy space heater that's been having nuisance pilot outages. I noticed today that if I bumped the ECO wires down by the gas control the pilot would go out. This is a robertshaw gas control with a circuit that goes in a notch were the t-couple attaches to the gas control. The plastic wire arrangement ties into the drafthood roll out switch. I can remove this from the gas control but I would like to intall another. Is there another brand that would be sturdier than the original?

    First

check and see if the thermocouple is screwed in tight against the ECO interface. If it is ok then you need to have someone check out the rest of the circuit. These systems are relatively trouble free and so may be trying to tell you that there is a bigger problem growing somewhere.

I've checked the tighness of the thermocouple. I've used a ECO interface from Johnstone supply on different jobs in the past but did'nt realy care for it. I might replace the thermocouple with another that has the terminal block built in.
  • Johnson Controls has

a junction block adapter that can be used with your existing thermocople. The part number is K16FA. Honeywell used to make one not sure if it is still around part number Q356A-1005. Hope this helps.

I orded in the honeywell eco block. The ones I used in the past were white rodgers they seemed to loosen up over time. I'm going to use the honeywell, If they don't serve well I'll try the johnson brand. thanks
