Making a radiator work by brute force

I got one of my two cold rads to work today. (It's a Veco vapor, 2-pipe system.) This rad is near the end of the line and just hasn't been getting steam. I disconnected the veco trap(actually, my home-make veco trap) and put a tee between it and the rad exit. Into the tee I threaded a riser and put a Hoffman 75 (can't seem to find Gorton locally). Well, says me, if that doesn't vent the rad, what will? Seems to be working. At least that tenant will have a comfy bedroom tonight. My fear is that this will pull the priority from somewhere else, so tomorrow some other tenant will be calling. Anyway, it is kind of a modified version of 'master venting' shown in 'the fine art'. (Modified in that it's on the exit side rather than the inlet side.) Do the big-brains have any thoughts about this arrangement? Has anyone ever coaxed a two-pipe system rad by adding a rad vent (like Hoffman 1-A)? Could one theoretically set up a two pipe system with simple water traps on the rad exits plus rad vents?
