eccentric reducer bushing

Can anyone help me locate an 1 1/2" x 1/2" eccentric reducer bushing. I busted one trying to remove it from a huge cast iron radiator without applying heat. Smooth move. Help Mr. Wizard!!

    You Could Try...

...getting a solid steel (not a hollow cast or malleable) plug with a hex head and drilling & tapping it. The hex head is pretty much the full size of the plug, so you'll have a large flat surface to locate the hole where you need it.

I found one for going from 2" to 1/2". I forget the proper name, but it was a boiler plug of some sort that actually had two 1/2" tappings (plus it came with 1/2"npt x compression fittings). I discarded the fittings, plugged one of the two tappings and I was on my way.

    That is a duplex bushing

for an oil tank. Those compression adapters are "drilled through" so that an uncut length of tubing can be slid through to the bottom of the tank and run to the burner without any connections to avoid potential suction leaks. The tapping marked "S" is sometimes tapped in from the other side (depending on manufacturer, I think) so that a rigid dip tube can also be used. Just some random info.

    Thanks, Tom,
That's exactly right, it is called a duplex bushing. And it makes a handy radiator eccentric bushing in a pinch.
