Local media contacting me about CO!

is smiling right now, I can feel it:-)
I also feel your pain about people ignoring the problem. The problems not going to go away, even with hydrogen fuel cells. When the unit seperates hydrogen from the gas, it leaves GROSS amounts of CO, guaranteed!
You MUST face the issues now, before you end up having to defend your actions, and or inactions, in a court of law.
Inactions generally demand a higher $ amount than actions do. Actions prove an attempt at due dilligence.
Whats a dead body cost these days??? I'll bet the insurance companies know...
Keep up the good work Mark.

I got a GREAT phone call
from a reporter for the Albany Times Union not more than 10 minutes ago.
The CO campaign is moving forward. The reporter said that she checked out my web site and pulled alot of info from it. She and I spoke for twenty minutes, she was VERY interested in the issue.
A story will be in print this week, I'll post it, but she wants to do a more in depth report on this subject.
I am psyched!
It's time to put this killer behind bars, once and for all.
My Dad always told me that once I got something in my head, there was no stopping me.
Well, we know the truth. It's time to start talking about it.
From the CO front.

Be a namedropper and give her my name, too! I'll look forward to the story. Good stuff for leading off at ISH-NA!0 -
OH JOHN!
I mentioned ISH to her as well.
She wants to do another story in September, just before ISH, to bring the CO issue back up again before heating season.
I will give her your name.
Let's roll!

Pit Bull
I like that.
But there is only ONE MADDOG!
It's coming Mark. We WILL see this change.
I was reading HR's post about his letter to FHB. I believe with all my heart that open systems pose SERIOUS health issues, and I would NEVER install one. Trying to prove that case will be tougher than proving the CO issue. I get 5 or 6 documented cases of CO poisoning a day, and still people seem uninterested.
My hat is off to Dave Yates and his efforts to make people aware of the dangers of Legionella, it is a NASTY bug. We changed the way we install water heating devices BECAUSE of Dave Yates. I believe him and the science he has provided to back up his statements.
I am now providing the statistics, (palatable verbage for "dead people".)
I think that I will have a roundtable at Wetstock 4 about why you SHOULD NOT test. That's right, should NOT test.
Love to hear the reasons.
My Dad died a few years ago, I hope he would be proud of me.

Make sure
Make sure you mention how 'stupid' the UL2034 standard is for home CO alarms. Refer them to George Kerr's website (www.coexperts.com).
Maybe the media can put a little pressure on UL to actually provide homeowners with true protection instead of a sense of false security.
You are 'da man'!!!0 -

Mark,
Thanks. I'm stunned by your second post.
Here's a link to an article I wrote regarding CO, how it's created and why it kills. Feel free to include it if you'd like.

I pointed that out to the reporter. She asked WHY the CO alarm in a persons home did not go off when there was OBVIOUSLY CO present. I let her have the truth.
This has just begun.
