Does anyone know how to size common (shared) smokepipe on two or more oilfired appliances?

Not sure about oil, but in mass, on gas fired appliances, you square all the diameters, and cut the smallest one in half, take the largest one, and keep it the same. IE: 7" and 8" joining to share a common vent, 7x7 is 49, half of is 24.5 8x8 is 64. 64 plus 24.5 is 88.5 or 10" smoke pipe.0
