choice of pipe in hot water baseboard system

7 years after completing a 2-story addition on a home in Baltimore I received a call from the homeowner that Gas&Electric said cpvc pipe was illegal to use to supply hot water to new baseboard in 2-story addition. I am a remodeling contractor. 7 years ago I subcontracted the plumbing to a trusted, licensed plumber. He says that back then he tested the water temperature coming out of the boiler and it was less than 190 deg. Also, due to the difficulty of running copper pipe on this job, he chose cpvc. I have searched the Internet for comfirmation on this pipe choice and have not found a condemnation on this choice. However a plumbing inspector told me that it would not be or have been, allowable.
Does anyone out there know the legality of this pipe choice? By the way, there has been no problem so far.

sounds like a real bootleg job. any one who needs it to be more simple than copper tube w/ soldered joints just plain either can't work or is too lazy to work. plastic pipe for heat---what a disgrace.0
