    Wall Control combo

I'm looking for an attractive, programmable combination T-stat/ humidistat. My radiant customer needs to protect all that walnut (floors, wall panels, and trim). Duct mounted is out of the question. I need to pull in the AH on humidity call.
Honeywell has one with "perfect temp' but I'm looking for a stand alone device. Thanks in advance.

what humidifier are you using? Check out Aprilaire Auto track control It is duct mounted with outdoor sensor. We use it to control two humidifiers at once and bring on air handler fan. Wall mount humidistats are history. People don't want tnhem on the walls.

    Steam generator

You can buy a humidifier that is a seperate unit , where you run a duct to a side wall register. The unit is usually mounted in the basement and ducted to a central location. Remeber dry air acts like a sponge and will suck up moisture, they also make models that can be put on a duct system but will only bring the A/H on with a call for humiditification, these work best on a variable speed unit

is the one we use. look in a totaline catalogue for a trade model. and we usually go with wall hung steam generators piped into the ahu duct. Paul

    Humidistat

Thanks guys. I'm using a Carel canister type steam injector like Paul mentioned. I'm familiar with the Aprilaire w/od sensor. It's a nice setup. I think Aprilaire just came out with a T-stat line, you'd think they make a combo wall mount. I'll check into the Carrier.

Nortec is a similar unit to the Carel. Both are high end and very impressive. This is my first one so the jury is out on durability.

    The one

you want is the Carrier "corporate" t-stat, it has heat and humidity controls along with OD temp sensor to help set the humidity. Very impressive unit, so easy to setup that my mother-in-law figured it out!!!

    Honeywell's PC8900...

does just that. You'll need an outside air temp sensor, too. That's what I run my own comfort system with, and it works very well. Available from any Honeywell distributor, no retail equivalent.

    Thermidistat

The Bryant/Carrier Thermidistat does this including an outdoor sensor to adjust humidity level. White-Rodgers just came out with a ComfortSet III model with humidity control. Don't know about outdoor sensor capability.

    aprilaire

Aprilaire has a tstat 8870 (i believe that's the right number). One of the selling points is it can be tied into a home automation system. We installed a few in 1 home. They have remote sensing module that is pretty nice & small. The thing I was very disappointed in was you could get a humidity and temp module but you can only control to one setpoint. So you could control your equipment to the temperature setting but only monitor the humidity. Seems silly to spend that much money on a tstat and not be able to control your humidifier as well.
