Cast Iron Radiators

I'd first try to sell them to someone who won't just break them into little pieces. Newspaper ad, front yard, heating contractors, etc.

Call a local scrap yard to see how much you get per pound for cast iron rads. Even though they're considered "prime" scrap you don't get much AND you have to haul them.

How much to ask depends on your area. Locally I usually get them free for the hauling or no more than $50 or so. They used to be quite inexpensive in St. Louis as well but some really cold winters (and I believe increased demand) have raised the price there multi-fold. Extraordinarily elaborate or highly unusual rads will usually fetch a much higher price.

Don't forget: Cast iron radiator systems STILL produce extremely comfortable and efficient heating systems. Unless you're absolutely dead-set against keeping them I'd consider repairing/updating the system first as you may well regret loosing them when the fuel bill arrives and you're no longer as comfortable!
