Expansion Tank Question

I asked this question once before and was told it wasn't a good idea to have two expansion tanks on a system due to the point of no pressure change.

At the time I could see why this would be a problem ( I still do actually) but was wondering if the setup shown in the drawing would work? Wouldn't the system see it as a single PNPC?

Just wondering as I want to keep my existing Fil-Trol setup but I think it is slightly undersized for my system. Fully heated pressure never exceeds 22# or so but I'd like to reduce that a little if I can. (Kinda a Tim the Toolman thing, got to tweak it...)

If it won't work, fine, I'll just get a bigger Fil-Trol in the spring..

Thanks

Rob

PS I always have the fill valve off if that makes a difference.

    Multiple exp. tanks

Multiple expansion tanks aren't a problem. The drawing looks just fine. You may want to make sure the precharge pressures are the same on both units, so one is not moving more than the other, it's a very small point, but may make increase the life of your tanks.

    Thanks for the

info, I added a little more detailed drawing.

That's what I was hoping as I can get an Extrol Tank for next to nothing. I'll make sure that they are both set at 12# pre-charge.
