Burnham V-74-T boiler leaking

I have a Burnham V-74-T, CI, oil fired, hot water boiler that is leaking,... But it appears to only leak when the burner is firing. The combustion chamber liner appears to be in good shape, there was about a cup of what I assume was ash but looked like rust on the liner.
I assume the heat from the firebox is causing a crack to expand and leak. I cooled the boiler down to try to see where the leak was (with the boiler cooled off the leaking water would not evaporate as fast and I hoped would be easier to find). It did not leak, even with about 25psi. When I started the burner, I could see it dripping under the boiler after about 2-3 minutes of firing.
I assume the leak is in one of the sections. It is dry in the areas where the slip nipples are, as well as at the tankless heater gasket, and there are no valve stems dripping, etc...
The boiler is 8 years old.
Has anyone seen this before? Could this be a defect in the casting? Could this be a warranty issue?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Warranty
Even if it was a defect in the casting or a design error, the warranty would not apply, it is past its warranty period. I have never seen a problem like this, I'll be watching to see what Glenn Stanton might say.0 -
I Believe the V-7 Series had some problems ...and the V-8
replaced it. Glenn will fill you in. Mad Dog

Any serial number ranges on this problem?0 -
To verify warranty
contact our Customer Service Department with the Serial Number of the boiler at (888)432-8887. They will advise you on the correct procedure and whether the boiler is under warranty. Hope this helps.

V7 Leakers
It's leaking at the second section. Right now we are getting atleast 1 replacement block a week for the V7. Like Glenn stated in his post. Call the 1-800 number, they will send you a new block with jacket. You will have to take the burner and trim off your current boiler though. They will also give you a labor allowance.
Yes they did have a problem
