Buderus burner selection

There's been good information written on the Wall in the past about the best no-nonsense burner selection for Buderus' G115 model. My recollection was that the Riello burners were still having problems, and that the Carlin (PF-10, I think) was a better bet.

I recently asked for a Carlin instead of the Riello, and I got the Carlin EZ-1, which is a sealed combustion model. Does anyone know if the EZ-1 is an okay choice, as opposed to the PF-10 that I'd heard about before?

    Buderus/Carlin

    Andy..........................a quick check of the Buderus price guide shows they offer three burners with the G115;
    Riello F3 & 5 based on size,
    Beckett AFG,
    and
    Carlin EZ-1
You should be fine with the EZ-1

If it's a direct vent application then changes are required.
    Riello BF3,
    Carlin P10,
    no Beckett offering.

    Regards,
    Nels

Actually, it is direct vent with the EZ-1, and the burner does have a connection for the outside air. Do you still think it should be the PF10?

My understanding is the Reillo problem is no more. I know they had a couple failed BF post purge problems, but my experience is that every burner mentioned has had its problems.
I'd give 20 to 1 odds that I have replaced at least 20 shot Becket or Carlin burner motors for every one Carlin.
Or how about the different oil delay problems or bad primary controls. Whens the last time you replaced a Reillo primary control? You can carry that little orange box of Reillo parts around for a long time before you need to pull one out.

I have the BF3 installed in my G115/21...since April. All new. IN june the post purge control was removed and bypassed. Yesterday or today the new version will be installed.....

I had the post purge control stick on twice...out it came.

I'll let you all know as soon as I have a problem with the new one, and if not, I'll let you know that in a month or so and thereafter as well.

I am impressed with how quiet the BF3 is....that's for sure. I have little to compare it to...but it is quiet.

    I just had a problem ....

....with the new control. Installed a new system last week. Buderus with a chimney and the home owner wanted the fresh air BF minus the postpurge. The supplyhouse sent the post purge to the job, thought it was a gift. Anyway the unit stuck in post purge and it was the new control. Did not need it so I pulled it out. We used five of the new controls and one failed. I'am not a fan of Carlin and would still .stick with a Riello. But tell you the truth I'am not a big fan of the BF . It does not have the same crips fire of a F series Riello..The fire seems a little lame . You need to fiddle to get proper numbers....
