had any problems with Tacos LWCO?
We had one act up after months of operation. It shut the boiler down even though the system was full.
There is a "water purity" dial on them so you can adjust the sensitivity.
Well after a few months running the unit decided that the water was too pure. We made the recommended adjustment and all was well for twenty-four hours. This morning the boiler was off on "low water" again.
Now this is just city water, no special treatment, no R.O, just muni-water.
I can't have customers waking to no heat this time of year because a LWCO can't sense water.
Anyone else had this type of situation?

We were talking about this yesterday on a job.
The instructions say that if you turn the dial all the way to the "+" that the water is too pure and needs to be treated. Treated with what? Would simply adding a can of Silver King #5 (I assume this is a FHW job) make the water impure enough to provide better conductivity?

Beats me
I suppose I could add calcium and make it REALLY hard.
The rep from Emerson-Swan told me that he had another situation like mine.
I think I'll be replacing the Taco with a Hydro-level.
As I said, it's too damn cold for false alarms.
