Is there any type of repair for a boiler that has recently begun leaking (dripping not squirting). Its an HB Smith, about 12 years old running 1 pipe steam, residential. Thanks.

You need to give more info as to where the leak is, middle of the casting on a section, at a pipe or fitting where it connects to the boiler or elsewhere. Repair (if possible) depends on where the leak is.0 -
leaking boiler
My boiler is leaking from the water line and going up the flu. I know its time for a new boiler but I would like to try "Silver King boiler stop leak "to buy me some time. Will this hurt anything?
Thanks

I actually used the same stuff 3 weeks ago on the boiler in our shop. ( Was leaking around the same area) IT WORKED!
(The boss is buying time too and wants to wait till it's slow to replace the heating system,LOL). Drain some water out of the boiler and mix up the boiler solder in a bucket. Remove the relief valve and pour it in. Raise the water level in the boiler to the top of the gauge glass and fire the boiler. This may be a temporary fix so, set aside a few bucks for a new boiler.0
