Baxi Burmuda 401 Overheating!!!

in THE MAIN WALL
I am having trouble with my Baxi Burmuda 401 Back-Boiler, If i have the temperture setting on the boiler above "low" the water starts to overheat and becomes very loud. It seems like the noise is steam comming out of the overflow pipe in the airing cupboard (where the cylinder is). Seem like the temperture control cant deal with anything over "low".

Is it a matter of replacing a thermocouple or something???????

    check to see if your pump is working, it sounds like there is very low flow or none at all. On a low setting it will dissipate the heat by thermosyphoning, but because you have probably got relatively small piping it can't move the water fast enough on a higher setting.

    It could be a couple of things:
    1) Check your boiler thermostat.
    2) Kettling in the boiler(dirt in the heat exchanger).
    3) Are you sure there is water in the system?

    Just turned the speed up on the pump, worked for awhile on "high" but then over heated. Turned down to halfway and it seems to cope.

    I guess theres a flow problem, pump isnt that old (2 years) but system is about 12 years so maybe pipes need cleaning.

    Is there anything I can buy to flush out the system in anyway.
