Give Thanks

I am very thankful this year for many things, a wonderful, loving and understanding wife. She has put up with me for over 45 years 43 of those married.

I am thankful for my son and daughter in law who have prosepered and acheived beyond anything I could ever have believed. They have also blessed us with two year old Benjamin who will probably end up in the construction business (he loves "Builder Bob".) He carries a little plastic backhoe with him every where he goes.

I am thankful for my daughter and her wonderful and patient husband (My daughter is like her father) my son-in-law is like my wife. They also have prospered and acheived things unimaginable in their short lives. They have blessed me with my 18 year old grandson who affectionately calls me to this day "Boppy". He is in college studying to be an architect and exceeding even his expectations for himself. He has been blessed with compassionate and loving spirit that drives him to find ways to help others. The other part of my daughters family is my grandaughter, being the only girl grandchild well you know how grand dad feels about her. She is very independent and a tremendous athlete, for a 12 year old shes has the savvy on the hockey rink of a Bobby Orr.

Last of all I want to give thanks to God for my health, prosperity and the many blessings he has bestowed upon all of us.

And finally I want to thank God for all of you here on the Wall, you are the greatest bunch of people I have ever met in my life. I was just thinking this morning how every day a part of my routine is to boot up the computer check my e-mail and then go to the Wall to see what is happening. From there over to oiltech talk and then to work. All of you have become a big part of my life. Only time will tell how very timely it was for God to direct me to this site. Thanks to all of you and especially to Dan and his wonderful family. May God Bless all of you enjoy the day and Hey do not just hug the kids HUG EVERYBODY!!!!

After I posted this there was a little cold nose and a little growl at my side. Sorry "Fluffy" I am also very thankful for you. She is there when no one else is and never complains just looks at me with those big loving brown eyes and wags her tail. I guess even she knows how to give thanks.

    I have a simple rule

if you can not say thank you when things are going well, how can you ask for help when things are not. I to have lived a long time and had many blessings in my life. I do not believe in coincidences, but in a force which sets me on certain paths at certain times. In some cases I wondered why, but I now realize how many times I was better off in the long run. When one door closes in life, it is an absolute that others will open. You just have to be willing to step through. Have a wonderful turkey day and all.

And this Thanksgiving is particularly special to me

My mom died early this year. She was extremely crippled with polio. My dad wasn't just "right" mentally--or so everyone in the family thought...

He was truly the most kind, most considerate, most giving person imaginable to his wife. He devoted EVERTHING to her care because he's just "that way".

They created an only child who feels "alone" in the world. Afraid of one thing--passing on genetic flaws--but doing his best to make the most of his gifts.

Dad is enjoying life--HIS LIFE--for the first time. Even as a child he always felt that he held the burden for his entire family. Judging by the amount of work he did he was likely right...

I'm especially thankful this year because I met my true father for the first time the night I told him that mom was going to die.

Dad's problems are still there but at least I believe that he can finally be himself.

    God is good.

    Happy Thanksgiving

Have a Happy Thanksgiving. So much to be thankful for.

My heart goes out to ALL of our troops. Freedom isn't free,it comes at a price. Being away from loved ones from now until Christmas still has to be as difficult as the mission itself.

I am thankful for all of you, my friends, on The Wall. I love the high standards that you bring to the table.

Alan at OIL TECH TALK always says, " Your friend in the Industry." I am going to sign off as "Your friend in Nebraska".

    Happy Thanksgiving.

    Thanks to you all

My year so far has been a blur of activity. Between teaching at night, coaching soccer and running a business. My only time for recreation is going to choir practice at church and singing myself silly. Life is good. I thank God for this day off to put my toes up and eat myself silly. I plan to sit in front of a football game and doze on and off in a comfy chair, Pumpkin pie and whipped cream sitting on a plate balanced on my belly. (Although I have a heat load to do before I can enact this plan of mine). Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

I give thanks everyday! in the little kid that smiles from the passenger seat window, in the grocery store while chatting with the little old lady reminiscing about life, when i'm in my chair crying and the dog lends his coat, as my mother takes risks knowing that i'm there to help her, when i realized what is truly important in the everyday of life..........that i've loved, lived, gave, played, smiled and worshipped...........that i've learned at an early age "To whom much is given, much is required" love people, and life. and know that seems are not always as they seem. God Bless ~ Happy Thanksgiving!

    Excellent story James

We are all aware of the many great things that people do for each other each day. Too often we are bombarded with the bad news. But I know in my heart that most people are good and that they care -- I see it every day, too.

    Thanks guys...

These days America is in a great cultural battle to see if the state will acknowledge the Creator. (Judge Roy Moore and the 10 commandments)
I'm glad to see you gentlemen shamelessly acknowledge the Creator here by thanking God. Many times ungrateful people are tempted to think they achieved everything through their own hard work. A thankful man realizes that God gave him a strong body capable of work. Or if his body isn't so strong, he's thankful God gave him a strong character to deal with his physical frailties.
Or else he's got a great mind to use, or maybe he doesn't have much but he's in the greatest country on the face of the earth.
The best mind and body in many other countries wouldn't yield a tenth of the opportunities available here.
In short, a thankful man can always find something to be grateful about in the face of any adversity. If things are bad, he's grateful it isn't any worse.
Psalm 103 says, "...Forget not ALL His benefits..." Sometimes I wonder how many I forget every day... Thanks guys for all you are continually teaching me. Kevin
