Scraped Digital Thermostat for Old Honeywell T87A

I have decided to remove my Lux1500 digital thermostat and use the old round, mercury, Honeywell T87 dial thermostat.

Here is my dilema: The instructions with the thermostat say to set the heat anticipator to 1.2 steam/gravity setting. I have an old Dunkirk gas fired boiler #PS42 and I called them today and they said to set the anticipator to .6 for electronic igition and .4 for intermediated pilot.

I set my Lux temperature swing setting to 2 and the house temperature in the house seems to work pretty good, I just don't know if I am consuming way to much energy? Or hurting the boiler.

Am I looking into this too much? I know I have a old inefficient boiler 21 years old but it seems to work real well but I know it is nearing its usefull life.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks for your time.

    Lux and Lux Pro tstats

We ran into an unbelievable batch of bad lux pro's and lux t-stats, so many that they are a bad word at our company(over 30 replaced after verifying they were bad). We use honeywell electronic now, and have had no problems. The setback features are nice, and the temperature is a little more accurate than with the rounds.
