an old 3 family house. One of the gas/steam boilers
(American Standard G26 counterflow sys) needed some work. When I looked at the service order I noticed one item " Re-sealed back of boiler behind scorch mark". The Boiler did have a faulty relief valve so it never shut off on pressure. But what is Re-seal? Also the flame lookas alot taller than the other boilers.
Thanks

work order
contact the service company and ask the service tech what he did and why. I prefer an informed proactive client to a confused worried one!0 -
One guess
The sheet metal covers on the top of the sections before the flue collector aren't too sophisticated on the older boilers, my guess is the tech found a bit of furnace cement missing and patched the hole, good eyes and effort on his part.0
